It has honestly been a pretty great month of training. I got to fire the M249 SAW and M240 Bravo machine guns, throw a no shit live M67 hand grenade, and shoot plenty of M16 rounds (including some at night with a PEQ-15 laser sight and night vision goggles!). I also never fell out of a hike, even though the 10 and 15k hikes were a real bitch.
It was nice to be treated with a little respect by the combat instructors. Alot different than boot camp. I have definitely had enough MREs to last me a damn lifetime, though. Being in the field sucks haha.
Next I’m off to my occupation school (data network specialist) at Twentynine Palms, CA for about 3 months. I’ve heard the base sucks since it’s in the middle of the desert but I’m excited nonetheless. Well this is enough pointless life updates for now. Leave some asks if you’d like! Hey all, how is everyone? I’m out here at SOI enjoying some well earned Saturday liberty (I was one of like 30 in the company of 250 not to fall out of a 10k hike haha). Just got back from 10 days in the field last night too. Aka, 10 days without a fucking shower. Ya it was bad. I got to shoot the m249 saw and m240 machine guns last week too! That was boner-inducing. I’ve got MCT (Marine Combat Training) for the next 3 weeks at Camp Pendelton.  Hopefully it goes fast, I hear they keep us pretty busy, though.  I’m just glad I’m able to bring my phone with and use it on weekends now!  I’m currently putting 15gb of music, tv shows and movies on there to keep my occupied (and I put some torrenting apps on my phone, too.  haha I’m so hooked on television..)

anyways, I never did find out who it was sending me nice anon messages before I left for boot camp!  It was like 3+ months ago, so that person probably forgot about me.  oh welllll
